I’m Dave, and I run Electronics Labs Australia. My fully equipped lab is based in Redcliffe, Queensland. I specialise in fixing broken car keys, car and garage remotes. Most in-store repairs are usually completed within 30 minutes, and while you’re waiting, enjoy a free cuppa at Mary’s café in the arcade.
At the Sunday markets on weekends, I offer a “While you Wait” repair service. Look around the markets, grab a bite to eat or a drink, and I will call you when your key is ready! For my Mail-Order repair customers, I offer a fast turnaround with FREE return Express Post Australia Wide!

Car key repairs – Common issues
Most Locksmiths will replace rather than repair!
I repair most common faults in car keys and remotes, including:
- Worn-out buttons and broken microswitches
- Held together with sticky tape or superglue
- Intermittent or non-responsive buttons
- Keys only working if you push hard on the buttons
- Cracked, crushed or pet-chewed keys
- Internal moisture or water damage
- Key not flipping out properly
If it used to work, I’ll make it work again!
Once repaired, your key fob or key will work straight away! No Programming needed!
Complete Key rebuilds and flip key repairs
If your key is taped together, the buttons have holes, or the blade’s loose – it’s time for a rebuild.

Who I help
Car yards and dealerships
A non-working or damaged key can cost you the sale. I will repair those keys like new!
Car owners
Your key used to work. Now the dealer wants $400-$800+ for a new one. I fix what still works, and often in 30 minutes, and at a fraction of the cost!
Renters
Returning a garage or gate fob that doesn’t work? I’ll repair it before final inspection so you keep the bond.
